Great image rich, although it seems just a tad bright to me too. What I know of curves and levels is that they a similar but levels is more helpful for B/W, so you should be just fine with your program and this image. Nice work.

I agree, just a bit on the bright side. But on the bright side, there is much to work with since it is a nice pic. -COAmature

Thanks Rod and Tv. My PSElements 3 does not have a curves tool, but I have a levels tool with a histogram and sliders which I use frequently, is it kinda like the same thing? Rich

B&W well done is such a relief from rampant colors (I should talk?). This is nearly perfect except for some excess sky. The way off clouds are neatly defined. Excellent distant shot with no DOF compromises. If this were film, a red filter would darken the blue sky and bring out those clouds even more. I think newer versions of PS will do the same thing. -tv

Nicely done Rich the three piers work quite well together. I would give this a pull down on the curves tool to makes the blacks richer. If you're not familiar with curves tool just try a brightness & contrast tweak with maybe the emphasise on the darkening. Well done mate:-)
