Fields Of Power

CRW_5256A_2.jpg

This was shot toward the opposite direction from the first post. Not sure if cropping is required? I like the wide open spaces.

Nice clean (as Rod says...proper), simple picture and composition. Really like it.

Thank you - tv. I will try your suggestion the next time I'm out that way. Still learning the operations.

Just noticed the EXIF: 1/2500 at f/4. Next time out, you will get sharper results and greater depth of field by reducing the shutter speed and stopping down the aperture. For this shot, 1/300 at f/11 would have done it. The high shutter speed selected by the camera also suggests an ISO of around 400. -tv

Much better. This one works real well for me. -COAmature

Hey Troy - nice expansion of the tight cropping version. Shows you got the eye.. and it confirms the muted colors are not made up. Great depth of field. It's great to see the detail of the grass carried way back by the receding wires in the horizon. -tv

This is a proper picy well done Troy.

You could consider shooting this under different light. Say, late afternoon with some interesting clouds.

Point well taken. Leveled the horizon. Thank You.

However, Brent has a point, leveling the horizon would be good! :-) ~Sharon

No cropping needed here, Troy. You have captured the wide open space and the pylons going off into the distance very well! ~Sharon
Brent 12-May-2007 15:26
The better clarity here works better for me on this one of the pylons Troy. I like that old farmhouse. When you are out there in this field can you hear a buzzing noise from those things? Could be just me, but possibly the horizon neeeds a little straightening here.
