I like skinny crops if the enhance the subject and reduce unwanted distractions. I think you could take your crop further and get rid of the outer grey border. I know it is a wall but it dose not fram the top and is uneven at the bottom. I think your image would be strong enough and still be well framed within the two vertical walls. The golden light is a great backing to the darker wood.

Like how the lighting has the tree brighter on top with a slow fade ending at a perfectly centered shadow. -COAmature
