I think the Maoris are more about intricat patterns, almost psychedelic. "Neo tribal" tattoo people often make spinoffs of those. Australian aborigins sometimes use all white face-paint, and similar on Papua New Guinea. Probably used more places as well - it's a striking effect.

This is great! Very creative, excellent colors and composition. Great attitude also. I got a serial-flash of historic references when I saw this, jumping from tribal bodypaint via Al Jolson to the "tongue" shot of Albert Einstein... you could sell this as a poster.
