8th: In Tune
by COAmature

From the song "With a Little Help From My Friends"... "Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song
And I'll try not to sing out of key..."

I added just a touch of film grain and included a frame to make it "feel" like your looking in on our living room jam session. Hope you enjoy it.

My boys get me by. My boys get me high. My boys are my friends.

Yes, family as friends, and we all need a little help from them. Music is important in the family so keep singing, even if it is out of tune! CJ

Thank you all so much for the feedback, constructive criticism, and suggestion. It's kind of fun being the topic of debate. I've added the original picture to pending. -Doug

Nice composition & tones. Singing for others is timeless, even if it's "out of key".
I'll stay clear of the frame debate.

The frame adds the sense of depth you were after I'm thinking. Even w/o the frame I like the subdued colors. I'm wondering if a little brightness may be warranted, as seen in the lower right corner. Either way, very nice. jano

This is really good, Doug.

You almost fooled me Doug, well done mate:-) On first viewing I had really mixed emotions as the colour & contrast of the frame seem to make the picy really nice like a picy illustration in some kids books I vaguely remember from way back when. So what I reckon is happening here is you have a very flat picy with no contrast & the contrasty frame makes up for this by fooling the brain into accepting it as a whole. Crop out the frame & the brain then sees it as an uninteresting flat picy. I had a play with it & it confirmed my thoughts, to me anyhow. I put the shots in pending for further discussion. As far as photography goes Doug if you want a picy through a window then you should shoot a picy through a window adding grapics to make a picy work isn't what I call photography. But well done on a good sense of colourings mate:-)

Well, I should have been able to figure that out myself! The picture is perfect for the lyric, good work Doug! ~Sharon

Thank you Sharon. I've updated the comments to reflect the song the picture is attempting to illustrate. Although, the entire song should be listened to in order to take in the entire feeling of my picture. -COAmature

Doug, this is absolutely charming! The colors and tones are very nice. I can't help but wonder what song you are playing for them. I also wonder what song or lyric you are illustrating with this shot? It would be good to give us hint with your title or in the comments immediately below the title. ~Sharon
