He won the last challenge but didn't show up to run this one. He's our Greta Garbo:-)

Oh! Who is the Deo you are referring to?

Too long ago to remember Rod but I remember it being pretty high key to begin with with the blown background and all, hence the reason for such a close crop (which I like in any case). I would have used Channel Mixer to convert to B&W and remember having some difficulty getting the balance between the area under the hat and his wiskers. I have infact cut back the sharpness of his wiskers as they seemed over sharpened.

What sort of processing did you do on this shot Andy as the detail looks similar to what Deo does to his shots. In a funny way it seems as though it's too detailed so it loses a sort of organic feel. Nicely framed but:-)

I took a "little" artisitc license for this comp.
This is a gentleman I met on a beach while shooting an other model. He did not mind me shooting his portrait - I would have loved to shot more than the three images I did.
I take it he has had a hard life or is a smidgen older than 64 acutally but I did not ask his age......that would be a little unprofessional. :) :)
Hey, Andy, the portrait challenge was last week and you won (in Exhibition)! I see that portraits are something you are very good at and this is another example of just how good you are. What amazing sharp detail you were able to get. Unfortunately, this image is too big at 159,486 bytes. Could you reduce it to 153,600 bytes or less? Thanks so much! ~Sharon
