Cute little guy, but this shot seems slightly out of focus.

Troy, this looks so much more like a portrait now! You could tone the red in his cheeks down a bit, if you want, and it looks like there might be some red eye in his left eye that you could get rid of. So what do you think, do you like it better this way? ~Sharon

Other than the cropping this is the original, no flash used. I think it looks more natural now. Any comments or suggestions? Should I get try to get the red flush out of the face or leave it? Thanks Rod.

Well done Troy it's nice to see kids doing something & unaware of the camera. This looks like a flash shot & gives a flat uninteresting look to the subject. Try & get some more shots like this in natural light maybe closer to the window light or bump up your iso & use room lights. It's a goodun though:-)

I welcome you comments very much, thank you. I am still learning and your points well taken. I will do what you suggest.

Welcome to the challenge, Troy! This is one cute kid and his concentration on what he is doing is clear. However, this seems to be more a shot of his shoes than of him, the shoes are so busy they draw our attention away from his face. Try cropping it to a little below the power strip and in from the left to get rid of the brown piece of furniture. I think you will then see that you have a lovely portrait of your grandson concentrating! A little more contrast and sharpening of his face and you are done! I hope you don't mind my comments, it is a delightful image well worth spending a bit more time on. ~Sharon

Very busy - is that an outlet to plug into? I predict a future electrician. :)
