Grey area *

Thought we needed a person shot and ended up with a bit of a challenge to the challenge. So Primary lighting is from flash in my left hand. Secondary light is off screen to the right with a flashlight that adds fill light to the right side of my face. Both lights provide backlight to the primary subject--the back of my head. Complicating the story is that my right hand is holding a hand mirror that relfects my face back to the lens providing reflected frontal lighting as an accent. I guess you could say I wanted to have my cake and eat it too. This is an unassisted SP shot last night after the wife went to bed.

Thanks to all. By the way I dropped the hand mirror and cracked the glass while taking this shot, so...

A funny one Bill - I knew we could count on you for something different and on-topic! Good one! CJ

Yes I don't know why most of us are shooting flowers when a silhouette would suit the topic & no worries with translucency. Nicely done Bill & not easy to line up your face in the mirror I imagine. It works very well mate:-)

Well done and this gives me an idea: while sitting in a movie theater take a picture of the screen capturing all the backlit heads in front ;-) I never go to the movies so someone else will have to do it. Rich

I like it - Good set up. I think you could have not even used the mirror, and stood as you were making a speech or something... jano

Very clever, Bill. I like the concept and the resultant SP, too. It also qualifies as on topic, as far as I'm concerned. Good job! -mikey
