I concur. This is excellent! I really like the color version too. Yes, in the b/w verson the bikers are the main focus and the grass doesn't compete, but it's cool in it's own way. In the color one I would've perhaps darkened the shadows a bit more, especially to darken out some detail in the last biker's uniform, the bit of blue and red glimpse on the others works well.

Great composition with silhouette, works for me in B&W. Nice one!

It seems quite lacking in colour so I agree wiv Henry & Mark:-)

The B & W version is far more effective IMO. The beauty of B & W is it's ability to take distracting elements and reduce their importance in the image. For example: the posts sticking out of the ground. In the B & W version, they are merely another element in the image and they are not as noticeable... the eye focuses on the bicyclists and follows the tree from ground to sky. In the color version, my eyes are first attracted to the green grass and the posts. That's my opinion and I'm stickin to it :-) Markjay

Excellent photo in B&W, AND in Color. I think the B&W version works best in this challenge. - Henry

Excellent -- as is. I wouldn't change a thing.

Great composition, Rod. I like how the curves formed by the bent backs of the cyclists correspond with the curve formed by the trunk and the lowest branch. Very well seen. I wonder if I would like the color version better. -gerald

We are still waiting for the color version.

To be clear, I was not suggesting removing the tree shadows... just to crop some of it from the bottom. No matter what, I still think this is a great capture, Rod! markjay

Did see this picture in the previous challenge (in pending)...didnt get a chance to comment.
Marks suggestion seems interesting....but I like the picture the way it is.
I would also like to see the color version.

Thanks Carole Ammm & Mark:-) Yes I have a colour one I will post it for ya Aammm. Good point about the shadow crop Mark but somehow I like the shadows:-)

You did a great job on this, Rod! From my personal point of view, I crop off 3/4 of the tree shadow from the bottom which creates an appealing "frame" around your subject.... at least on my 768 x 1024 window. Markjay
