I used the clone tool on a acute angle & I think it worked:-)

Yea, I see why you were trying to clone it out. Makes sense. I would try cloning in multiple small steps and defining a different source for each step, and also offset them by some distance (1/2") horizontally. That way even if the pattern repeats, its not going to be obvious beyond a small portion and over the full length of the line, it would be pretty much random visually.

Thanks Cat:-) I think I can see it too now. There was a line like a small wave just above the boat that I cloned as it didn't seem to look right ( it was in all 8 shots I took) but it might look better au natural than my cloning skills:-) Here it is without any cloning, no matter how small I make the clone brush as soon as I clone along the line it makes above & below look repetitious even though the the brush didn't do anything there. Very strange init:-)

Wonderful end result Rod! Reminds me of one of a similar shots I had done:http://www.pbase.com/cslr_challenge/image/70892347
(*) Needs a little more perfection in the touched up areas. The repetition pattern is noticable.

Thanks Carole, Lee, Bill & Blade:-) Well I'll be buggered, I really liked this shot but posted the bike shot thinking you would all say the subject is too small in this one. But after 20 posters told me the bike shot was off topic I put this one up. Wot's really pleasing about you liking this shot is Mereana wasn't so sure about it:-)hehe
She liked this rock pool better.

I've gotta pile on with the accolades too. Great photograph for the contest.

This is just terrific Rod! Can't add any more praise than all that's been given - great shot! CJ

What is unique and deserving about here is that the isolation subject is so small in size-relative to the framing. Unlike the rest of use, you have made the point without the isolation subject being dominant in size.

Thanks Christina, RK & Henry:-) I took a few shots in AV mode that looked ok on the camera lcd but I've been tricked before with highlights on the water looking good in review & really blown when I view them on the puter. So I set the mode to manual & underexposed by quite a few stops.

You nailed this one! - Henry

This is wonderful Rod! And it seems perfect for the topic to me! Wonderful work!

Wow, Rod...dont know how you arrived at this...looks like a negative (from the film world) typically I would have expected the sky to be bright and the water surface to be darker with bits of reflection. This picture is inverse and I love it.
