Nice shot, Rod. Next time see if you can include just a tad of the leaf stem so as not to create the feeling your leat if floating stand alone like :-) I took a rain drops on a leaf shot and posted in the exhibition gallery but, yours has nicer colors. Markjay

Yes that would be nice, but more stuff to carry:-)

It's better now, Rod, but for some reason the focus seems a little soft. I'm finding the kit lens not very satisfactory for closeup work unless the light is really strong, and this seems to have been shot in the shade. Maybe it's time for both of us to spring for a 50mm or a macro lens?

Very nice and those water drops are a big plus :)
I like the red BG DOF colors too.

Thanks girls I will have a play wiv with your suggestions in mind:-) I was sort of trying to get a relationship going with the light outlines of the leaves so forgot about everything else:-)

Rod, I think I'd increase the contrast a bit so that your color values are not so similar. That would also make those wonderful drops of water stand out more.

Nice closeup of the water drops on that waxy looking leaf Rod. A crop down to the top of the leaf might look nice - did you try that? CJ
