I took this shot at f/8, which is as far as my camera could go for maximum depth of focus. The depth of focus was about 1mm and surface was just too bumpy to capture completely in focus, but I angled the camera to be as perpendicular to the surface as possible so there is stuff in focus in at least 3 corners. The image came out with a white glare from flash reflections, but I wrote an automated program to stretch the histogram down to 0 to make the colors saturated again. I guess I should have used an unsharp mask after resizing the image though.

INteresting image, this would be better with a bit of saturation and perhaps curves. Lots of potential though, very interesting subject, all those bits of fungus look positively psychedelic Image no longer oversized according to my browser - Jamdiver

Your first pic is my fav, as this again looks like it just isn't focused well. This image is oversized and should be resized. jano
