i couldnt find words of compliments for this image earlier...so now i am back here again.
wow! ummmm awesome! unnnn cant think of anything else :) -Abstract
ps: i like this simple, elegant, abstract, minimalist image a lot. dof work, sharpness, and composition are impressive. i would try cropping out the foreground part, right after that dark shadow though.

Great mate:-)

Thanks gsb, Brent, Christina and Rod.... i uploaded the other slightly different version. I'm glad you like it. jano
Rod 09-Feb-2007 07:41
I like the one you linked to better Jano as it has just enough more contrast to make it work a bit better than this one. It also makes me focus on the eyelashes better for some reason:-)

I think that this is gorgeous as it is, but I do think I like the tone of the other one a touch more. It's a bit browner and I think that adds to the softness of it as well. I don't think it wants more contrast though.
Brent 08-Feb-2007 20:08
Well done Jano- nice perspective.

Jano,

this is a really great shot. I like the angle, the focus on the lashes and the shallow dof.
janewigginsphotography08-Feb-2007 14:35
Thanks CJ - there might be some very slight tone variation and slight contrast increase, but it is very subtle. I think adding too much contrast would make the softness of the overall image suffer. jano

I like it just the way it is Jano, and my eyes must be failing me as I couldn't see any difference between the shots! CJ

I do have a slightly different version here http://www.pbase.com/jstrong/image/74072948 If you think it adds anything, I can switch it. jano

Thanks Sueanne, CJ, Rod, Rich and Mark. I have played with the contrast on this one, and it is such a fine line for me, I think I really like this as is vs adding more contrast. That's not to say it won't happen... but so far my attempts at it have not suited me. jano

Great shot, I love the perspective and the curved line of the eye in this view.

What a neat view point for the eye lash, well done. Rich
Rod 07-Feb-2007 04:06
Yes this has an excellent viewpoint, is there any reason it had to be such a low contrast shot Jano?
I seem to want more contrast in this, maybe even some noise from Photoshop might do the trick as it adds contrast too. Nicely shot Jano:-)
ctfchallenge07-Feb-2007 02:46
Very nice Jano, and different too! I like that shallow DOF and focus on the lashes. CJ

Beautiful and well detailed Jano.

Thanks Jammy and Christina for commenting. This image has been in the back of mind since the challenge started. Just had a chance to get it done this afternoon. I'm glad you like it!! jano

Let me echo Christina's comments, this is a stunner for sure.
And the image is also quite sensuous :)

Well done

Let me be the first of what will likely be many to say "Wow." Here's a definite winner!
