A good shot is a good shot GS regardless of our views about the topic & this is a good shot mate:-)

[OOPS! Rolling the mouse I accidently hit the delete button :-( It also opened a new tab so I could cut and paste this]:

It just dawned on me when I went back to the thumbnail gallery & saw the thumbnail of this shot & at that size it does look perfectly centre weighted. I wonder how many of you are bringing your perceptions of the thumbnail into play when you are viewing this shot, its just a thought because I never look at the thumbnails as such as I always open every shot. I think some might only open shots they think they will like from the thumbnail view so some opinion has already formed before looking at the full size picy. Very interesting a:-)

Well spotted on the sunny city, I spent more time looking back at Manhaten and wanting to get onto the sunny side of the bridge (it was pretty damm nippy as that sun was setting), than paying attention to the sunny side of the river.

It draws my eyes to the middle but my eyes are easily distracted...especially on sunny days and on the beach...

I went into this shot where the people are & the leading lines took me up to the top 3rd & around all the wires. The wires in the top 3rd against the clear blue sky look so much more defined than anything else in the shot. The stone bridge structure being in the shade & possibly not in sharp focus can't compete with the clearly defined top third. This shot is basically an overall pattern shot made by the wires. The sunlit city in the distance has more pull on the eyes than the centre of this shot. As I said I do like this shot very much but its drawing a long bow for central weighting I reckon:-) Its all very subjective & it would be very boring if we all had the same views.

Do like the leading lines and very on topic.
Rod, what gives...why is this not on topic?

Rod, are you at it again? Oooooh!! Look, the leading lines "lead" the viewer's eye to the center of the image, which happens to be the top of the bridge structure / american flag. Pooey on you! :-)

Great shot, GS. Brings back memories since I lived about a mile from this bridge and you did a nice job of leading the viewer. Markjay
