Hi etischer,

Though I think this is a striking well composed shot. The challenge was not exactly having a "centered composition" as I understand it but, have the focal point centered. Here I see the eyes as being the focal point and they are off center. Just my take on it.

The reason this "feels center weighted" to some commenters (originally I thought so myself) is because everything surrounding the subject is just a pattern by and large. Technically speaking (like I'm some expert now? lol) and on second throught...

I still love this image, the color, wide angle, and the subject isn't hard to look at either :-) However, I'm no longer feeling center weighted here. Furthermore Mr. Rod... most blokes don't see much more than a KNEE showing here so, your imagination must be running wild! :-) Again, great shot etischer! Markjay

Thanks for your comments =) Not sure why my pic got sent to the pending gallery, I think the girl is pretty well center weighted against the red background myself. -etischer

Good image, but not on topic as my eye goes to the face, not to the center of the image. jano

Yeah, I kind of thought that since I'm a girl I'm looking at the eyes, but the guys would look elsewhere and so find it center weighted.... Glad you beat me to it Rod!

This is centrally weighted for me:-) It's the look & feel of the shot that ses central weighting not just the literal focal point. Yes when I comment on other shots saying where I think the focal point should be it's because the shot doesn't feel centrally weighted so the easiest way to make that happen is to have a centrally positioned focal point. BUT:-) as we can see here the face & eyes are in the top 3rd but with the squat position of the modal & the fisheye lens distortion this shot is definitely centred weighted......I think.
Plus on a crass level most blokes will only be looking at the centre of this shot:-) It's a goodun init.

I'm with you, christina.... great shot, not center weighted by Rod's definition of interpretaion but..... who caes??? IT's a great shot and feels centered to me :-)

Marvelous shot! shu

I'm going to anticipate Rod maybe... I don't feel center weighting. Her eyes are really my focus and they're in the top third. But it's a darn cool shot!

Wonderfully done Eti, have to say that i'm in love with the fisheye effect and the lighting well done.
