Hi Rod, This is a winner! I too like the outline of the facial features and I can relate to the title and explanation. I like the blinds in, the light is great (while dark of course). Good job! Yvonne

Thanks Jano Carole & Aammm:-) Yes Jano without some details on me it would be just a silhouette & not graphically show darkness I think:-) The pose, well that's a hard one Aamm because wot you described sounds like it would really look a bit too dramatic:-) We think alike on this one Carole as with the crop & now quite liking the window in:-) Thanks all:-)

After looking at this again I think it is better with the window in the picture. The eye wanders to the light but then back to you. I also like the way the fish wall hanging leads the eye back to you. And the pose, not looking at anything in particular - just alone with your thoughts, gives an introspective feeling to the image. Very nice self portrait Rod. CJ

Really like the idea and the execution, well done mate. However, I'm not too sure about the pose, it looks like...well, very posed. Had you turned your head/body just a little it would look more natural. Also, the window gives you a good opportunity to convey "waiting" had your turned towards it. Jmo of course.

I like the way you can just see the outlines of your facial features. Nicely done. jano

Thanks all:-) I shot this to try & portray that time of the late afternoon when you sit down alone in a room that seems too light to turn the lights on & drift off listening to music, reading a book or in deep thought not noticing that the room has grown quite dark until you sort of start noticing reality again. The title was an afterthought because like Carole I wasn't sure if I should crop the window out, when I tried it the shot of me doesn't really stand up on its own I think it would need a better exposure just on me. So to help the window to be accepted I used "Waiting" because looking at the shot it reminded me of when I used to be waiting anxiously for someone to come home that is late & I would sit & read or sit by the window hoping to hear their car pull up & the room would go from light to dark without me noticing in a similar scenario to me first discription. Gawd I gab on:-)
Thanks again all:-)

Like the picture and spot-on for the theme. Is this of you thinking about the challenge?
ctfchallenge10-Jan-2007 18:53
I like this ever so much better than the lighter shot Rod! I could even see this as a square crop without the blinds in the picture - what do you think? CJ
ctfchallenge10-Jan-2007 18:00
Great shot indeed. I was waiting for you to post the ole Churchill inspired shot ;)
