Nice and cosy kitchen in the middle of the darknes. * Sharpen the bright part a bit.

Thank you Jano - working on the original, I just lightened it up some. And a wee bit of a crop. :)

Rod, on the laptop, I just decreased brightness instead of burning and did do abit of cloning out some white specks. :))) I think monitors do tend to differ so that is why I said that ;)

Did you bring this in a little closer Sueanne? It works well now and I can see details more clearly. I keep thinking of the movie "Sixth Sense" when viewing this. I wonder what a shadow or silhouette would look like darting across that space.... you know that last sec when you think you saw something, but when you look again it's gone. Eerie.. and well done! jano

Now Rod, on my upstairs monitor, its darker than what I see on my laptop where it shows up lighter. I will see what I can do..... either pp again or re shoot which I don't think I will be as lucky ---- turn down your brightness on your monitor :))))

Yes it's too light now on my monitor Sue Anne mainly because of the noise in shadow areas. Iso 1600 works great on well exposed shots but when we try & lighten the underexposed areas we get into trouble. The scene inside the doorway looks fine but I would use your new found burning in techniques & darken all the dark areas to hide the noise:-)

This reminds of a scene from a movie based Stephen King's work (like The Shining or Mysery) or and Alfred Hitchcock movie. The silhouette there looks like a staircase banister. Like you're coming downstairs. I dont see much of nothing else in the dark forefront. If you'd like to reshoot it, it would be interesting to see what else you can come up with. But this does work well.

I often get hungry but don't feel like going down to the kitchen - its dark!

I went back to the original and re - pp'd it - is this easier to see without making it too bright. On my monitor it looks fine but on my laptop, things seem brighter. Its hard to tell whats really the right amount of darkness to emphasize.

Thank you Rod, I was going to the kitchen for a snack and saw through the playroom the light through the window giving me idea. I shot this in a third room so its a silhouette of a chair sticking out. I could see if I lighten it so you could see it abit. But I wanted to emphasize more on the window and the darkness to the kitchen. :) (and with no flash it was hard for me to get a good focus and a sharp one at that)

Oh my gawd you're getting so naughty Sue Anne this is almost awesome:-) I say almost because I think if we could see a little more detail around the desk & chair (I'm guessing it's a desk & chair as it's a bit too dark for me to see wot it is) that would make this awesome for me. As it is it's only terrific:-) Well done.
