Darkness Looming*

Storm Scene from Spring 2006. No dodging and burning. The clouds where amazing. An amazing site to see in person. Originally posted shot( http://www.pbase.com/image/72601982/original ) I revealed more of the details that seemed blown out in the original post.

Very dramatic sky Techo - it must have been quite a sight! I like seeing the rain pouring down here and there too. CJ

I think this is a gorgeous shot now (after clarifying of it). Very dramatic and I like the angle at
which you took the shot.
If it were an exhibition print, I think it'd be better with the top half off, since there is enough dark
sky in the bottom half...

That's better Techo as the light on the water lead in has gone. Now I can see the dark:-) Goodun mate:-)

Decided to post the updated picy here. I had to repost it as a new entry and move the comments here as PBase didnt want to load the shot :P might be a sign LOL. j/k

Well Rod, thanks for sharing your thoughts. It's alright if you dont see the darkness in it.

Wot you saw is only relevant to you Techo, it's wot you make us see in your picy that's relevant:-)

You can clearly see that it's the storm coming in, if you know how exactly the weather works :P which I dont but I was there, so I know hehe. I've seen storms come and go and I've never seen one go like this, doesn't mean it doesn't happen though. It happend around mid afternoon. The re-edit was actually closer to what I saw, so I'll probably replace this one with it.

Well I'll be buggered you said sunset shots are a bit of a no no & you're first up wiv the closest thing to a bleeding sunset. Now you have opened the floodgates for the sunset shots:-)
When I look at this shot I'm looking at the light from the sky & the light across the water, obviously people can say look at the dark sky, the dark part of the water but the lead in to this shot is the light on the water to the backlit bridge. Yes we carry on up the the dark clouds but our eyes soon return back to the light. This shot is about light for me not darkness mate, a bit like....is the glass half full or half empty. Is the storm being driven away by the light or is the storm coming in to create darkness, this looks too bright in concept to be the latter.
Nice shot though:-)

Wow, those really are some dramatic clouds. They're like something in the movies, just before a giant alien spaceship appears.
