4th: Chili Peppers by Abstract

I did not like the "pure white" background so
I kept the wb a little warm and
did not push the top part of the histogram up

Grea idea, so imaginative! I think I might like it a little brighter though, just my own personal taste. Thanks for the lightbox instructions - I really need to do something like that! CJ

Thanks :)
Homemade? Would you please be so kind to post a shot of it in the forum? Just got a book from Santa about homemade equipment and I am very curious about yours :)

Thank you Yvonne and Armin.
setup is very simple. i covered my homemade lightbox only half way (left side only), so the light from the left got evenly distributed in the whole area (no directional harsh shadows) and the uncovered light on the right (placed a little diagonally) gave the desired shadows. as the lightbox was half covered i was able to shoot almost from the top. i am not sure but i think, i used a small table lamp to add a little light on the bottom part. as i mentioned, a bit warmer WB helps too.
Hope this helps. -Abstract

Beautiful and what an artist too :)
(I like the frame border too ;) )
Rod 28-Dec-2006 01:29
You are forgiven.............................just this once:-)
ctfchallenge27-Dec-2006 22:10
Thank you Armin and Rod.
I like those shadows too, Rod and i have to admit adding the border was not my first choice.
actually i added the border after I uploaded the shot once in the gallery without the border. i felt the need to contain the subject in a boundary. the contrast between off-white background and grey-coloured-page didnt do the trick, atleast for me. -Abstract

A good move with the WB as the colour in the shadows looks really good.
Usual stuff about the colour coordinated border:-)

very clever :o)
