10-DEC-2006 Mary Anne

8th (tie): Growth * by Marry Anne

Holyoke, Massachusetts USA

I thought this was a perfect texture shot, but had a terrible time getting this under 150K while maintining any sharpness. Of course, part of the problem was that I had forgotten to change the ISO setting after the low-light work I had been doing a couple of days ago. I may go back and get it right some other morning before the challenge is over.

Canon EOS 350D ,Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6
1/3200s f/8.0 at 22.0mm iso1600 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Hope you make it back to shoot again Mary Anne. I've found that any shot with a lot of bricks in it is very hard to hold the quality on when limited to 150K. Good eye.

Excellent, Mary Anne.

Thanks for the suggestion, Rod. I tried it on this version and on the original, and the bright part of the vines just looked too "blown" to me. So, I think I'll just leave it as is until I can get another shot...at the right setting.
