Hopefully there will be another challenge that will suit this shot and we'll see it again!

actually, christina, you are right. it was a slow shutter speed, and i did want to take the pic again. i just didn't have time to go to the other side of the city for it again and it's too late now anyways :)

Henry is exactly right about the difficulty of focusing. I have an S1 and it's a bear to use autofocus. It usually take three or four shots to be sure one of them is relatively in focus. Or I use the manual focus setting. That usually helps. (If I can get it in focus by eye!)

But this kind of strikes me as slow-shutter speed blur. It's not terribly out of focus and yet nothing in the frame is in focus so it doesn't look like a narrow DOF that you missed. Did you shoot it with a slower shutter speed on your tip toes? That might account for it! It's a neat shot, I'd love to see you try it again!

Thanx for the tip, Henry :) Mon

Hi Monix, I used to have an S2 IS and had some trouble with getting the focus where I wanted it, it was a little tricky. If you have time, look at the image on the LCD and zoom in to make sure you have the shot in focus, before you move on. It can take some amazing photographs. The rest is up to you. :) Henry

Rod... it IS natural, might be because of the beers... :)
Rod 11-Nov-2006 09:54
But Mon it would take quite a few beers to make this shot look natural:-)

i rarely process them with photoshop. but i like to keep them as natural as possible. even if they are a bit blurry :P

Nicely shot Mon, I downloaded it & it sharpens up in PS ok. Do you process your picys on the computer & wot program do you use?:-)
monix 10-Nov-2006 05:19
i'll deffinitely re-post it if i run into it again and catch it in a non-blury moment ;)
monix 10-Nov-2006 05:09
i know it's unsharp. still, i posted it because it turns out i won't be able to get it sharper. the light bulb is very high up on a block

I'm not sure the focus turned out sharp enough for this to have its full impact potential monix. Good subject matter though :-)
