Maybe you shot this a bit too close Tony as we can see all the fly poo even though it does form a repetitive pattern, it's not real nice to look at:-)

Its from window blind in a newly renovated part of the building I work in. I was looking for something fun to shoot with the DCR that might have a pattern in it, then I looked at those metal balls, and was pleased when I noticed the reflection in the larger ball. I also happen to be hiding in the dark area in the middle of the large ball behind the camera/tripod.

The smaller balls are probably about 3/8" in diameter, and the larger is double that. The larger one is the catch so you can't put the blind up or down too far.

Uploaded the wrong image... I put the watermarked ones on my web page...

that's quite a closeup, Tony! I'm assuming this is one of those little pull chains like on a lamp - what's the size of these? some very interesting textures on the uneven surface of the balls, including repeated patterns in the larger reflection. can't say the big watermark helps the photo though... - b.c.
