Thanks Techo and Brent - obviously a long exposure to capture this and just enough heat on the tips of my fingers to pull back :) it is strange jano

Great shot Jano. The motion blur works very very well here. The hand , the fire, and sparks are all in motion and there is still enough static points in the image which make it all come together nicely.

Well done Jano. It's strange how the sparks look so sharp and frozen while others things are blurred, but I guess if you think about that it must be because the sparks are moving in a continued straight line.

Nicely done Jano, of course the sparks are my favorite......Yvonne

Yay:-)

Thanks cj, sharon and rod.... I have eliminated the distracting spark. I did wonder about it but I agree it does not add anything to this photo. (it is pretty cool though in the orig :)) But that is just me and my pryro in me lol jano

I vote for cloning the top middle spark:-)

I didn't notice the stray thingy until Mary Anne mentioned it and now I find it distracting. It is not really important to the picture, just amazing that it is way up there (!), so cloning it out seems like a good idea to me. ~Sharon

Yikes - Jano's playing with fire! Nice effect - I like it! :-) CJ

Thanks all for commenting. Maryanne - that stray thingy and a couple right below are sparks. I could definitely clone those out though... what does everyone else think? jano

Great shot, Jano. The contrast between sharpness and blur works beautifully. One nitpick...I'd clone out that stray white thingy near the top middle.

Yay, Jano! Great sharp sparks with interesting blurring of the hand and lighter. Good work! ~Sharon

Thanks Rod - trying to focus my attention in this challenge to sharp with blur either on the side or in the background. This had an almost fireworks look about it which i liked :)

Phew I can feel the heat on your thumb, the sparks look great too.Goodun Jano:-)
