Really beautiful shot - love the colors, composition and lighting and that is an extremely shallow DOF! :-) CJ

I'm gob smacked, bowled over, up the creek without a XXXX. This is history in the making a Richard Higgs shot wiv out a frame & sig. If you can do this I should be able to quit smoking.:-)
Well done Richard this now looks like a shot from a confident self assured photographer & not from an internet wannabe. I'm very impressed a wonderful looking shot.

I love the colors here, Richard. And what a unique angle on these very unusual flowers.

Richard, it is a beautiful shot - colours and compostion are fantastic. As for removing the frame - well I'm not a great fan of them either, but frankly you should post what ever pleases YOU and ignore nay-sayers like Rod and I.

The objective in this photo was to create the smallest DOF possible.
As you can see only the very center of the purple petal is in focus, yet the shallow DOF in 95% of the rest of the photo still gives the whole image its visual beauty nontheless..... I also had to work overtime to keep Rod happy to remove my beautiful frame which I normally present my work in :-(
