Thanks Britt and RK - I'm sure my dad wouldn't mind his ruler being used as the "scale"... he was a great carpenter :) jano

Jano, maybe this is the scale we use to measure up other entries. Great concept and execution.

This is a super shot, Janey!

Thanks Sue Anne, CJ, and Brent. The Pro1 does great DOF if I do my job correctly. I took many photos of this, and was surprised on how it zeroed in right where I wanted it. This particular yellow ruler was my Dad's so i'm glad I can memorialize it (even if it just a ruler) :) jano
Brent 10-Jul-2006 22:48
Nice shot Jano. I give it a 9 :-)

Great DOF shot Jano. Maybe I need to buy a Pro 1! :-) CJ

Wow Jano - Nicely done on the 'nine' on the ruler . Getting right on what Rod likes. :)
Rod 09-Jul-2006 09:10
Right on Jano, the DOF can really enhance the focal point when used correctly. Foreground blur can be a real distraction when it just happens on its own, but when a photographer uses the DOF to draw attention to the subject it can lead to terrific shots:-)

Thanks Rod - I am really appreciating the foreground DOF now... I used to think of foregound DOF as a "flaw" but now I see that it can emphasize a target subject. jano

Another one of the P&S brigade that understands how to produce a DOF shot:-)hehe.
Well done Jano this makes the topic as clear as a bell, thank you:-)
