Thank you, Shu! What can I say?? I’m glad you understand my position and are—as well—willing to accept it. And many thanks too for your comment on this image: it is not only *very* welcome but also *very* useful as a learning experience. (One may see in a picture things the photographer had not consciously seen; the other may read in a comment a thought the writer had not been aware of having written.) — db.

If you like something about an image or if you have a constructive comment I think most of us welcome them. I think you've commented on my images, haven't you? No problem if you haven't, tho. Your decision not to comment will not affect my willingness to leave you one should I feel so inclined. Like now, great B&W, expression and DOF! I focus on the manicured nails, too. A good image keeps one lingering............shu

This is a marvelous image, Dan!

...and you know I am *very* grateful for your doing so; I really am! — db.

Sorry for interfering, should have kept quite. Of course there is no such rule, and by no means anybody have to comment when they don't want to. I will still comment on your entries though :)

Yes, aam1234: And...?? (The only excuse for your unnecessary interfering in the age-old quarrel between Rod and me could be your not having read my remark written before you wrote yours. I don’t mind saying it again and again if you insist: I like receiving comments, but I don’t like much commenting myself. So what? There is no rule, as far as I now, that prohibits participating with images in this challenge without writing many comments oneself, is there? If there is one without my being aware of it, let me know and I will become immediately an ex-member of the ctf-challenge.) — db.

If I may reply Daniel, I think Rod has a point.

This is not a criticism but an observation. I don't recall you commenting on other peoples' pics since I've joined this wonderful and friendly challenge.

Again, this is just an observation, you can and should do anything you like.

Best Regards from aam1234

BTW: What do you mean, Rod? The fact that I do not comment often on other photographers images does not mean that I wouldn’t love to receive comments on my own pictures (and learn usually a lot from remarks of any kind)! It just means I’m generally not at ease commenting; but there are exceptions enough. So I do mean it: thanks for commenting; I do appreciate your taking the time to do so (and always read with great interest what others think of my photos)! — db.

The hand on the shoulder is what makes this photo for me. Good work.

I think this is the best of the three portraits. It uses DOF so effectively.
