A lot of wisdom in your eyes

Thanks Paul, Brent,
No one recognises me when i've had a bath:>)

Paul- This is bold. I really like. The red is fine. If I had a wish for this shot, it would be to bring out the eyecolor a little more. Nicely done. Paul (pbates)

This threw me for a loop at first Paul. I've seen you mug in several images now, and even had fun imitating it once in a challenge - especially when I got to use fruit jelly for scraped knuckles :-) But at first glance I didn't recognize this as being you because of the different light I guess. On closer inspection I recognized that rust colored band in your right eye, but it doesn't stand out a lot with this light. Nice image Paul.

We're so alike Rod:>)

If you think that's red Jano you should see his nose, he always finishes off the evening with a bottle of port.............................The cheap stuff
Paul 28-May-2006 06:26
Thanks Jano. This is my natural colour:>) I think it's something to do with working outdoors in the Aussie sun all year. Either that or i had the Vivid button pressed by mistake.....

Very intense photo Paul - I think it works well with the lighting, but think it's a teenie bit on the red side. I like the red, don't get me wrong...but a little less red may work here. Nevertheless....it is spot on as far as clarity and focus. Yay to you for getting this close!!! jano

Thanks Rod , Aam.

Odd thing taking photos of myself. I abhore being photographed by a 3rd person and find it hard to take photos of other people, including Emma, but really get into these types of photos where i do it myself. It's probably nothing more than vanity although i've never thought of myself as vain, i certainly have little interest in keeping up appearances. Hmm.

This hasn't come out anything like i wanted at first but i quite like the colour and that i've got the foremost eye foremost in the photo. If the crop wasn't so tight then the end of my nose would have been the focal point which wasn't my intention.:>)

Aam, do you mean a variety of pics already in this challenge or in general? This is the first one i've put up here and don't think i've used the mug for at least...oh..a whole challenge:>)

Rod, the lighting and exposure i found very hard and ended up with a halogen reading light just a few inches from my right eye which wasn't overly pleasant, i was looking at spots all evening. Mind you that might have been Emma's polkadot undies.

May I be honest with you Paul. It seems your better work involves your mug, which isn't bad idea at all. It says you are good photographing people/portraiture. I remember you posting a verity of pics, what happened to those.
Rod 26-May-2006 14:11
Is this you Paul? I ask because this person looks quite intelligent. If it is you, you look a lot better without a face.
This lighting looks really very good, is it a bit more from the right side? as it shows good skin details & the shadow on the left really helps to make the shot. Geez Emma's getting good:-) I really like this one mate.
