Sometimes a tight crop works out, sometimes it doesn't. This is funny anyway, but probably not to the owner of the bike! :-) CJ

Well, the story is simple. I was walking home from class one day, and there it was. It must have been a joke. One of the reasons I shot so much of the sky is because just below the tree line is a very busy area with lots of people and a pretty ugly building. I wanted the effect of being away from people. I'll work on the crop some more. My first attempts led to a very off-balance feel, which might fit the idea of the photo, but didn't seem to make for a very nice photo! Thanks for the suggestion!

Hi Christina - Welcome! One way to give a quick fix to this shot would be cropping out most of the blown sky down to the tires as I don't think it's necessary for this shot. I'd love to hear the story behind this - I hope it wasn't an accident! :-) CJ

Thanks Yvonne! I like it here so far... It's not as harsh as some places and instead of, "that photo sucks" I get "that photo sucks because..." It makes a huge difference!

As you get into this great hobby Christina you will start to see the problems through the viewfinder at the time of taking the shot. People that just take picys & put the sky in after or spend too much time with Photoshop are really missing out on the creative side of photography. As fixing faults that shouldn't be there in the first place is a strange creative process unless you're a graphic artist.
:"Shoot & learn" That's it:-)

Yeah, it is a shame, but I'm no good at photoshop so I don't know how to fix it.... should have taken one a little darker I suppose. Ah well, shoot and learn...

Nice idea for the topic Christina, but the blown out sky is a shame init.
