Traditional*

Tropical Butterfly House, North Anston

I am reliably informed that this is a passion flower and that it has significant religious meaning relating to the temptation of Christ.

Update : Your right Julian, I've changed the title to "Traditional" - Passionflower (Passiflora incarnata) was used in traditional remedies as a "calming" herb for anxiety, insomnia, seizures, and hysteria.

Many thanks for your comments, I might try your advise but never normally change photos as I prefer to see the actual photo that I've taken ;o)

Gorgeous. I agree that either USM or blur of the background leaves to pop out the top flower might help.

If Wikipedia says it's named after the passion of Christ, it's gospel. It's supposed to have many medicinal properties too like treating hysteria! Hahaha - I think I could use some of that now! :-) Aside from that, they are beautiful flowers and I think this picture could benefit from a little more contrast and some USM to bring out the colors more. And we need a name on this too. :-) CJ

Weren't we supposed to avoid giving two images the same name??

How did you establish the reliability of your source?:-)
