Julian, thanks for the advice. Coming from you I apprecite it, as you take many very well done portrait type photographs. At work now, but look for antorher update once at home.

I don't think you should let the edge of the image just touch the hair. When something in a picture just touches the edge of the image, it creates a visual incident that attracts the eye to a spot away fron the main center of attention. So my advice would be, give either the hair an inch more space above it or crop half an inch more off the hair - just don't let it touch the edge. In this case, I would crop a little more.
There is a little space below the edge of the plate as well and I think you'll agree with me that if the plate just touched the edge of the image it would look odd. Same with the hair. Good shot otherwise.

thanks for the comments. I actually had a tighter crop version, but chose this one instead. I am gonna try the tigher crop to the hair like CJ suggested.

Great image, but I would also be curious to see this with a tighter portrait aspect. Can't help but think this very cute little one gave in to her temptation :-)

Mmmmm chocolate - my favorite! This is a really cute shot Blade and I think it would look even cuter if you did a tight crop on just the face by cropping down to the hair, in on the sides to get a little of the arms and crop the bottom up to maybe the rim of the bowl. This would end up in portrait mode rather than landscape mode. You could also up the contrast a little and maybe some USM too. Very "sweet" picture! (pun intended!) I like it! :-) CJ
