Pffff..... :-P
isn't this a painters challenge? :)
Rod 24-Apr-2006 07:36
Had a look at the original Armin & I still can't work it out. So Caroles motion blur is the best theory yet. I also like the look of this but as a painting, as a photo it sucks:-)

I love your ducks Armin and where are the ones in your Pbase gallery? I looked but didn't know which gallery to look in! I'll remove this picture from my gallery now. :-) CJ

Oh, and thanks Rich, I like your title :o)))
arminb23-Apr-2006 20:38
Thanks Britt :o)
Rod, maybe you de-noised your glasses to much? :o)
I guess, the main problem was: no perfect lit, and an orgastic chaos (= very fast movements, so CJ is right, shutter speed should have been faster to completely freeze the action. Thanks all, but I kind of like it :oP

I don't know what all the hoopla is about, but I think they look real. The upper right duck is a bit motion blurred, but I suppose that's to be expected.
arminb23-Apr-2006 11:25
just a 2nd, I will place it into pernding...nothing done except resizing...
Rod 23-Apr-2006 05:00
The ducks still have a big problem even with the silly black border & white surround you put on it Carole:-)
This looks like it’s either a small crop from a larger shot or it's been through a de-noise program or the Jpegging has ruined it. Can you post the original shot Armin as it came from the camera? just re-size only.

I think its great, you could have called it "the coffee clutch" :-)
ctfchallenge22-Apr-2006 20:51
Armin, I tried a few things on it and put it in my Waterfowl gallery which I'll delete after you view it. Any better in your eyes? CJ

I'm not sure what the problem is Armin. There isn't much halo around the center duck but maybe taking the sharpening down a little might help, but I'm thinking it might need more processing rather than less as the colors look a little dull. Maybe a little more contrast might help and a little clonning too. The spots of water show up a lot on these ducks and I know I always have to clone out a lot of those. The other thing I was thinking is that 1/250s might not be fast enough for handheld on moving ducks and there might be a little camera shake which is interferring with a good clean look. If you can reshoot this, try a faster shutter and see if this helps. Love your ducks though! :-) CJ

Hm, what is the problem here? Too much processed? I just resized it, made it a bit lighter, slight sharpening, that's all...

I agree with Rod, Armin. The colors are great, but the image is so processed that the ducks don't look real.

Hungry ducks just being fed with bred by a nice person (not me, of course :o) )

Are these wooden ducks or wot? You have either over processed it to buggery & they're human ducks or they're not real.:-)
