Thanks for your comments, Rod, Britt and Mary Anne. I am also not so glad about the busy background; the DOF is too deep due to f/5.6. A faster lens would have been great. It would be possible to use a selection in order to blur or darken only the trees without affecting the subject but I want to avoid too much PS editing with this type of shot.

I agree with Britt, Gerald. I wonder if it would help to lower the brightness a bit and increase the contrast. Or maybe try to blur the background. The giraffes by themselves are great, but the photo just becomes too busy with that background.

Boy i wish those bg trees weren't all the same colors as the giraffes. This would be so cool the way they are posed if the bg was green or something else. They both look a little sad, don't they?
