I love this mesh. Reminds me a little bit the Piramide in Louvre

Thanks Rk, Armin, Paty and Yvonne. This is actually Downtown near where the original "U" was Yvonne. Not sure when you were last in Seattle Yvonne, but you may know the economy was booming in the 90's here. Money was set aside for several neighborhood libraries back then and most were completed in the last couple of years. This Downtown library designed by Rem Koolhaas turned out especially nice I think- it's my favorite building in Seattle.

This is really fun! Is this near the "U"? I live in the NW too. Yvonne

Thanks for the feedback Paul. It seems every image I took in the building had at least some compromises and this one had few enough along with some harmonious balance to the lines to make me think it looked pretty good. It would lose too much quality to aggressively crop this image, but maybe I can find the time to go back there again and experiment with some more angles and get an improvement. The place certainly has a myriad of angles to shoot from, and the light can change a lot with the time of day and weather :-)

Interesting building and the angle you've taken this from is good but i find the people and the carpet too dark. Thinking about it, it's the blue carpet with the folks there that i don't really like. Have you tried a crop that draws a line vertically straight down the back of that group so you end up with still plenty of window and that great unusual perspective on the right but only have the desk with the solitary person? That would also lose that somewhat distracting black blob above the blue group.

What neat windows, Brent! And you found a really great, unusual angle from which to shoot them. Good composition, too! ~Sharon

Hey thanks Rod. I tried to clean the windows but some old Aussie bloke said that was his job :-) Maybe Ren Koolhaas designed the library based on our mostly cooler climate here in Seattle; although some of the windows have a mesh in them that I expect helps keep down the solar heat. It is quite a nice space many in town are proud of.

Did you take this when you were up there cleaning the windows Brent? It don't arf look good dunit. I imagine that would be too hot for our summers, wonderful design though, & a very well taken shot too. Well done Brent:-)
