Thanks for your comments all. My guess is someone found a clever way of using the rain water from the roof to feed the many planters contained in the drain "U"s. I'll have to check back in the spring and see if they have replanted them- I bet it would look really great if all were blooming.
What a fun picture! I like the signs but the pipes really make the picture. Not only do they look like a bunch of "U"s, but they appear to be planters or the homes of a few of our feathered friends :-) Great shot! CJ
The opposing signs are fun but what I love about this is the typography that the pipes make! All those "u"s and a few "w"s and a "y" thrown in for good measure. I am so glad you included the pipes with the signs! ~Sharon
