Beautiful shot Sharon! I love the look of the water and the ice on the branches. :-) CJ

Very pretty! Yvonne

Wonderful capture. Really like the tones and the softness provided by the flowing water. The icy branches just add to the overall feeling, just wouldn't have been the same without it.

Beautiful shot, Sharon. It looked good in the thumbnail and even better here. The colors are perfect for the late-day look, and the contrast between the sharply delineated ice and the wispy flowing water is wonderful.

Sharon, the softness of the water combined with the hardness and crisp ice is really intriging and beautifully captured. The ice sparkles compared with the smooth flow of the stream. So very nice. Good eye here! jano

Ah long exposure, of course wot a dope I am. There's no exif so I didn't see the shutter speed which may have settled why I was disconcerted.
That makes this a great shot then Sharon, people may be confused how I can say a shot is not so good when I think half the works done in Photoshop & then say its great when I find out it was done in camera. The reason is that I regard a good shot as being mainly done in camera where the creative process is at its peak. Manipulations in Photoshop are for me far less creative & more just a skill.
I've seen some great creative work done in Photoshop but by Graphic designers & Commercial artists & they don't call themselves photographers.
I think photographers think Photoshop is a program for Photographers but it's always been a program designed for Graphic designers & Commercial artists to manipulate photo's & graphics to use in their designs. I've read that Photoshop Elements 3 has all a photographer needs. So the power of Photoshop is way overkill for photography.
Anyhow back to your picy:-) It really is a terrific shot Sharon with great composition which isn't so easy with all the lines in this shot.
See if you can incorporate the exif next time which will save you from one of me lectures:-)hehe

Thanks, Rod and Canoneer! This was shot at dusk and is a very long exposure, it's that effect you see in all the waterfall shots. I don't know about the proportion you mention, Rod. These aren't really twigs but small tree branches, maybe an inch and a half in diameter. No photoshopping here, other than the usual. ~Sharon

As it was downloading on me dial up I thought wot a great shot with the water as a backdrop the ice covered twig. But when fully loaded something seemed disconcerting to me ole eyes. The twigs look out of proportion to the water & where the twig goes into the water the disturbance isn’t there. If this is as shot then very well done as the perspective can't be faulted, but if it's two shots combined you will have to watch the perspective................I think:-)
