Growth from Decay*

Glen More, Spey Valley, Scotland

Came across this stump today and for something that's slowly decaying, it was brimming with life.
I really loved the little pine that's growing out of the top.

James, I love the intensity of the green in this amidst the "decay" of the stump. Very nice details. Great job. :)

Thanks, James :)
Unfortunately, I am not really able to set up my intended shot - at least not in a way, that I like it :)
Cheers, Armin

Wonderful colors especially the new growth. Thank goodness for old growth. Yvonne

This is great James. I would also crop some from the bottom, as it is apparent that your main focus is the stump with the evergreen growing from the top. Wonderful color! jano

Thanks Rod and Armin.
Armin, I don't have any problem with you coming "up with something comparable". Im just glad your still around :-)

You should have seen the first one I put up, it showed the whole stump! I've another which I'm toying with, which I might put up yet! ;-)

Hmpf, I had a similar idea, but was not able to shoot it yet - would you mind if I come up with something comparable, although it would not be growth from decay :o)
I really like this one - my only minor 'nit' is, that I would have cropped a bit from the bottom - but that's only me :)
Cheers, Armin
