Sorry it bothers you, but sometimes things in real life appear like a blown highlight to the eye as well, as this scene did. It's pretty much as it was seen through my eyes, so I can't change it.

I like the shot but the fog seems like a blown highlight...that bothers me a bit..

No doubt one of my favorites too. But I can't bear to read the story of how you took it, slippers Britt! ;) though I can relate going through a bit of extremes to take a shot.

I very much like the photo the way it is now. But I was wondering how it would look if the left side of the tracks in the photo where more symmetrical to the right. You can very simply use the Transform tool to stretch the left side a bit.

1. ctrl + A = select the whole image
2. ctrl + T = enable transform mode
3. press and hold the ctrl key and you can now click the bottom left corner and stetch it to the left , so the tracks come out of the corner. you may then need to crop some excess from the bottom.

I really like the whole openness of the shot and just cropping it would've maybe taken too much out of the empty space. but you can try it and see which you like better. If you would crop a bit out from the left, then take a bit off the top to get a pleasant aspect ratio.

Dont what I suggested make you think any less of this one. You did a great job!

Thanks Carr, Rich and RK. This is one of my favorites. Glad someone else out there likes it, too. :)

Thanks - I went through hell and back to get this shot. Had my hubby's slippers on after taking the son to school one morning. Trekked out over the tracks, set up the tripod and prayed that a train wouldn't come along. Slippers kept falling off everytime I took a step. Glad I didn't have to run and take a dive into the trees, tossing the tripod and camera up hoping to land the strap on a branch somewhere as the train whistled by. :) ~Britt, the size 7 gimp in her hubby's size 13's
