Sweet Temptations *

Being a "chocoholic", THIS is what gets me into trouble ever Christmas :-) Note, these are the last 4 pieces in a box of 24! My resolution is to eat chocolate (and everything else) in moderation.

Canon EOS 350D
1/60s f/5.6 at 135.0mm iso400 with Flash full exif

Yes, Jano and Yvonne, this probably would have been better under natural light and one with a bite out of it would have looked good too. I didn't dare buy any more of these though - they were too good and my New Year's resolution would have been broken before the week was out! CJ

Nice composition on this one, outdoor light would be really great as long as it is not too hot, chocolate puddles would not have the same pretty presentation. Yvonne

CJ - i agree wth Mary Anne that better results will be achieved by natural light. Another suggestion would be to actually take a bite out of one of these little critters...to make our mouths water :) Too bad hubby ate them...I'm sure you'll get more !! jano

Britt and Rod, these WERE good - they were filled with 3 different flavors of Vodka! You could get a little buzz if you ate enough of them! LOL ---CJ

OOPS! My husband ate them all :-) I guess I'll just have to leave this as is but I'll remember your suggestions for future pictures. Thanks again. CJ

Hi Mary Anne. Thanks for the suggestions! I did try taking this picture without flash but since I originally was taking this for the "Micro Contrast" challenge, I liked the contrast of shiny vs dull and light vs dark as well as the contrast in shapes of the container and the chocolates. But I will try reshooting this in daylight - it will be raining (again!) but maybe the lighting will be enough to make it work. Thanks again :-) CJ

CJ, I like the idea and the composition here, but I'd like to offer a suggestion. Save these for tomorrow, when (hopefully) you'll have some sun. Then shoot the same picture without a flash, using natural light. Finally, try it using a table lamp, again without flash. I think you'll like the natural light photos better--and the chocolates will have a warmer look to them. Are you enjoying your Rebel?
