Unrealistic Resolution #1

Learn an Instrument and Become Famous!

I am the queen of making resolutions I can't keep. I will see someone doing something amazing and will long to do that too.
Considering that this is the only thing I can play now, any hopes of keeping this resolution are pretty dim!

Sharon, i really like this image, especially the expressions on lady's face. btw as long as you are going to make a sincere effort, no matter how unrealistic the resolution is, it could count as a "resolution", hence on-topic...but if not, it would only be a wish or dream. -Abstract

Those old radios are really neat aren't they? I like the point of view in the shot with the singer. Nice job. Yvonne

It may have to if I don't get going and get more images posted! Thanks to Armin and Mary Anne for your comments! ~Sharon

Great shot, Sharon, and the inclusion of the portable radio in your comments is just priceless. Aren't we lucky to get a two-fer here?

Thanks, Jano, Alexeig, Rod and Britt! Jano, she is Shawn Colvin, not someone everyone would know, but an absolutely delightful and intelligent performer. I did think about white balance before the performance but I don't carry anything with me and the only thing on stage that would have worked were yellow roses, I preferred the red to yellow! Alexeig, I didn't know anyone could become famous for playing the radio! Thanks for all your comments, they are much appreciated! ~Sharon

I love the lighting on this as well and the background behind the singer is fabulous and im glad you left it in to enhance the image. Nice job! ~Britt

Why unrealistic? You WILL be famous

Don't forget Sharon normal on stage is the colour of the stage lights. I'm glad you left some stage colour in. The shot looks even better on second viewing today. Very good shot.

Excellent image Sharon - sorry, but I can't place who she is. Please enlighten me! I think any photo under these conditions, unless white-balanced with a gray or white card, would be difficult. You did an excellent job! jano

Thanks, Rich! Yes, handheld, no flash and she was lit with one white spot, one blue one and seven red ones! I had to do some serious photoshop work to get her skin to look even close to normal. All the shots I took came out looking like she had a bad sunburn! ~Sharon

I like the effect of the low lighting, I assume hand held no flash?

Thanks so much, Rod! I appreciate your insight. This was a wonderful concert, she has a fabulous voice and her lyrics are magical. We were very lucky to see her in this small club setting, sitting about 20 feet away. I took very few shots of her actually singing as I didn't want to annoy the people around me. I do have many shots of her tuning up, something she did a lot! I don't imagine you, in Australia, know who this is but I wonder if anyone else will recognize this singer/songwriter? ~Sharon

Playing an instrument would be great, but listening to music is not so far off. When you & the musician meet on the same plane then it’s magic for both of you. Lovely shot Sharon I really like the similarity of colours in this shot. Well done.
