Millefiori

Description: Millefiori is Italian and means "A thousand flowers". Made of
canes of glass which are stretched to reduce their width while retaining their
original shape. This particular shot is of a mushroom style paperweight from
approximately circa 1870. Most likely to be a Baccarat paperweight. Overall
width of the top of the mushroom is 1 inch. Bottom is about 1/8 of an inch and
maintains each individual cane. This weight is encased completely in glass and
is one of the double-overlay variety. Green on white to be precise.
