Maybe a slight underexposure would help to bring out more details and reduce the highlights. Very pretty scene for us in the snow to look at this time of year!

I like it Paul, it sure beats a snow storm. Rich

Thanks Jano, i took this without using the macro as i wanted to get as much background as i could in order to get the tilt as i thought just a macro of a flower was a bit of a cheat. I'm still hoping in the time left to get a better one of this as i too love the colours of this particular variety.

This is a beautiful flower Paul, and I like your perspective. Nit-pic = The flower seems a little flat to me. I'm sure this has to do with it being taken in the shade. Does the G6 have a macro mode wherein you could perhaps get in a tad closer with a little more detail - also exposing for the highlights? Just some suggestions. :) I do love the colors of this flower. jano

Overexposure trying to take flower shots in the garden this year is driving me barmy especially with any white flowers. they're all coming out blown to buggery no matter when i take them. I'm flogging the G6 and going back to the Olympus Trip if i can just get it to work. Nice flower though.

The flower came up really nicely & the exposure is just right for it being in the shade but with bleeding digital you have to keep the sunlit bits out of the shot or you end up with distracting overexposure all around the flower. Shame init.
