Well I have to say I snooze I lose...
I missed the black and white version, but this looks greatly improved from what was on here before. Good work honey! And Rod, I'm not a follower, I graduated in Psychology and you are a good case study for me. Muahhaha :) ~Britt

Yes this is the one it looks a lot better now.

Nicely detailed Yvonne and and the colors do stand out much better here. I do like this far better than the b&w. I hope Santa brings you the toy you asked for! jano

Nice update! I must say I do like this new version better than the older one and than the b/w version posted. This one looks a bit sharper with more contrast.

Like the colored version much better than the bw. Your description of ice cream sundae will be an excellent title...maybe thats what you meant by Swirls.
Great job

I like this one a lot better than the bw version. These are nice colors. - John

I also replaced the original here with a more "chocolate" version. Yvonne

Thanks everyone for the input. I actually did this shot in black and white first! I am going to play with it this week-end. It really is a shot for a macro lens (I asked Santa for it, we'll see) I had to crop it way too much to get this piece. That said, I do like the patterns and in color it reminds me of an ice cream sundae. I will post it in black and white as well to see what you think. I have to learn the curves....thingie smile.

Not sure about the b&w conversion... the picture has such subtle colors and patterns...maybe use the curves/contrast to bring them out. - RK

Before reading any of the comments I too thought a b/w version of this image would work quite well.

Britt has undergone the conversion & is now one of me followers. It's a bit embarrassing to be called the master but I can handle it.

Rod actually had an interesting idea. To make the frontal patterns pop a bit more you might want to experiment a bit. The image is a bit soft on top right where it goes into and out of focus and unfortunately that is where the edge of the shell is, so you are losing the defining points of the shell. B&W and contrast might help define it better. ::clearing throat::: Nice call, Rod. ~Britt

I'm surprised this wasn't shot at 100mm:-)
For a bit more interest I think you could convert to B&W & play with the contrast etc to make the patterns more of a feature. Plus B&W is art init.

Really nice colors and patterns, provided by Mother Nature but beautifully captured by you. ~Sharon
