Thanks everyone for your kind comments. This intensely colored flower is an American Hybrid Tea Rose called "Elle". I took the shot at the Woodland Park Rose Garden in Seattle- worth a visit should any of you find yourselves in the vicinity some day.

It's like looking into the sun at the end of the longest day. Top shot indeed. Do you know the variety?

You are probably right Rod, the L lenses and DSLR will help only if one has the talent. - RK
Rod 26-Nov-2005 00:08
RK why don't you get a G6 mate, as those L lenses are holding you back:-)

Wow...Brent...really really like this. Tack sharp and colors are just wonderful. Wish I can take shots like this.

Shucks! I had you in mind when I named it Rod :-)

This has a really good quality look to it & was only spoilt by the silly title, as though the you want us to think the flower talks. Good picys need no title & less so a silly one. This shot is good enough on it's own. Very good work Brent.
