Dissent away Alexei, as it would be bland if everyone liked it:-)
alexeig04-Nov-2005 18:59
Rod, let me dissent. Technically this is OK but a tad bland
Rod 04-Nov-2005 10:51
I sometimes take the G2 to work.........................................in case I'm not busy.
Thanks all:-)
Paul 04-Nov-2005 07:42
Eh? I've just noticed this is the G2, what's up with the 350 thing?
Paul 04-Nov-2005 07:11
Sorry Rod, i couldn't read your writing very well. I'll try again.

This shot is bleeding awful mate. It's almost as awful as your most awful shot you've ever posted.

Better?
:>))

I'll raise you 20.... the shot is fantastic! jano
ArminB 03-Nov-2005 11:39
OK, send me 20 and I will praise it :)
Rod 03-Nov-2005 10:14
The tenner was for a bleeding awesome not I like it.
Paul 03-Nov-2005 09:28
Actual fact, coming back to this because it is a good photo with the composition and wonderful colours and also re-reading the topic, it doesn't have to be lonesome. I like it more today.

p.s Thanks for the tenner in the mail.

Nice one Rod, it works :)

Jano, had an interesting idea. First looking at this photo I didn't see the focus here being on the lifegaurd person. Though I'd imagine that being in that shack for a while does feel kinda lonesome, it kind of reminds me of a cage.

quote:
Some people have the happiest time when they’re alone, so it depends on what one wants to interpret Alone & or Apart as, happy or bleeding miserable

Good words Rod. I agree.

and a big LOL at Armin's post. haha

-Techo :)

A beautiful crisp shot Rod. What I like about the photo is the lack of visible lifeguard and ppl at the beach - Another good title could be "Summers End" or "Beach Closed" possibly directing the focus off the missing lifeguard and more towards the emptiness that now exists on the beach. Very well done :) jano

Guess, the lifeguard fell off his tower after having read this thread, and therefore, we cannot see him in the picture ;-) ~ Armin
Rod 02-Nov-2005 10:45
After reading the topic again this shot is depicting the extreme loneliness of being a lifeguard.......................cough...........cough
& lifeguards don't work at sunrise or sundown:-)
Rod 02-Nov-2005 10:24
Who said anyfing about lonesome? The topic is Alone & or Apart, showing one of something.
Some people have the happiest time when they’re alone, so it depends on what one wants to interpret Alone & or Apart as, happy or bleeding miserable. The Lifeguard is sitting in the hut all alone but he’s very happy perving on the Sheilas, The hut is as viewed all alone & apart from anyfing else. So by now you should be able to see that this shot is bleeding brilliant init.
Paul 02-Nov-2005 09:33
This is on its own but i don't get the feeling of lonesome. I think at dusk or dawn it would feel a lot better for the topic. Don't you agree? This is quite jolly and summery and upbeat.

Wot a nice incidence ;) ...two "shelters" together side by side in the gallery :)
