Abandoned by Britt F

Corning, Missouri

Sometime my daughter and I will share some photos from the creepy, abandoned (haunted) cemetary that was behind this station on the bluff, too.

Thanks Cat. I am loving this image more and more. Even though every time I look at it, it brings back such disturbing memories. I even turned down watching a horror flick last night with the hubby because that's how shaken my daughter and I were after this evening in this creepy little town!

Good LORD!! Hehehee!!!

A guntube down here means, Guntube = noun, abnormally large .......................can't repeat the rest on a family forum so I may not be the man for the job after all:-)
ctfchallenge04-Nov-2005 03:39
Pretty creepy Britt, right out of a forsenic file, yvonne Nicely shot.
Britt F 04-Nov-2005 03:01
Guntubes = Noun. Strong, muscular, almost abnormally formed biceps, triceps and forearms. :)
ctfchallenge03-Nov-2005 22:24
This gets weirder and weirder.... BTW what are guntubes?

Britt, Re the gonads & a guntube the size of your leg. ..................................I might be the man for the job:-)

LOL. no, but it sure felt like another world. We watch way too many movies. I was hiding my camera when the people slowed down in the car to stare at us. I figured they would see that I took pictures of their murder scene and then we would be their dinner. A lot of the pictures we took were blurry in certain areas of the cemetary and there were bright, white lights that appeared in several of them as well. If I had the gonads to ever go back there, I would have to take a lot more cameras and big guys with guntubes the size of my legs and a few state troopers just for insurance.

Sounds like the two of you had quite a day, but you got back safely with a great shot (probably more than just this one). This wasn't anywhere near Roswell, New Mexico, was it?

I'm telling you - we were joking after we got home (and got rid of the adrenaline rush) that this was a typical grade B horror flick. All sorts of weird things happened to us while we were there. A mother and daughter alone on a lonely stretch of highway, in an abandoned town, a cemetary, the mom trips and falls as they are running back to the car after they find bones and hair, a car passes slowly by watching them and it's brake lights come on.... I will share the story sometime. Who wants the movie rights??? ~Britt

Nice shot Britt ;0 I would love to visit this scary little town sometime - do tell about the cemetary!!!! The sign on the building is a wonderful addition. Could be the start of a great horror movie. jano

Thank you Paul ~ You know I was meaning to take that silly car out and totally spaced off doing it. A mind is a sad thing to waste!! Thank you so much for reminding me!
Rodicus~ thank you as well for the compliment. It means a lot. This shot was a proud one for me. We feel almost lucky to be alive after the day we had trying to shoot pictures in this creepy little abandoned town. I still think there are "things" after us ~ and we are back home two states away.

You've created a great mood here Britt, one of the rare times where the post processing enhances the mood as Lonnit did with her two shots. Gawd you girls are good, in me next life I want to be a girl, unlike Paul who's a bit of a girl in this life.
Great work Britt.

This feels great, like a sci-fi movie of the end of the world. The successful sign is perfect. I would love to lose that car just under the sun though, it tears a hole in the feeling of emptiness and loneliness

I did a soft posterization to it - it seemed to make it pop more. I'm not sure why there is a white spot by the top of the roof by the sky. It could be some cloud cover - there were some lofty clouds nearby. Or maybe it is an effect from the posterization. Either way, this place was extremely creepy! Another reason I wanted to make the sunset in the BG seem a bit surreal. ~Britt

this reminds me of the movie "road warrior". i also like the soft focus and slight sepia treatment. btw did you do something to the sky, especially at the top of the roof? nice shot nonetheless. -Abstract

Great capture and feeling, I love the way the grass is taking over. The lighting is kind of strange, was this a long exposure?

I thought such scenes were just in those futuristic movies... I specially like the "successful" notice :-)
