Early Morning at the Quay light generally streams in all directions ,off awnings, buildings etc.
This morning there was a bit of nip in the air as well.

I don't think I put an asterisk by any of my entries. Hehehe. I figure if people are going to critique it, they will. Which is great; I would love that. But you are right, even when you do put one on there, sometimes you don't get a whisper. That's why I don't bother anymore.
ANYHOO...I think this is a beautiful shot. The textures are fantastic, the light that is falling on him is almost surreal. Like a window opened up and let the light in just in time so that your great eye would see this shot. (Unless of course you added the light pp. hehee) Very nice indeedy!

I will get back to you later when I can think up something nice to say:-)
Mate I don't really want comments on the technical nature of a shot as I see too many people who should know better putting Astericks on their work to get them looked at. With the amount of experience I haveI really am not looking for that.
At my age if I don't know what I am doing then I should give up.
I reckon it should be marked with an asterick if you don't want comments on the technical side of things.
On the other hand if you something nice to say than go for it.

Eric you will find you will get more comments if you have an asterisk, not always but I think most posters think the asterisk is there for any comments not just critique. The other problem is that as with this excellent shot I've seen & commented on it before so that could lessen the responses somewhat. You will find that this challenge will get far more comments under each shot than at the backslappers challenge. I would much rather see a "gee that's a good shot" or "rubbish shot" than no comment at all... Plus you have made it clear in the past that you only want constructive comments, which rules most of us out mate:-)

So true, just went to a kind of similar discussion in the recent cslr_challenge/forum. I think, there, it is even more extreme than here. A lot of "ur great", but very little about what the viewers think/feel about a picture. Olafdk and Chris, there, gave me afterwards really heavy citique on some of my shots - which I do quite prefer over silence. Don't know, maybe some people don't care, maybe some are presenting only to be praised and are not that much interested in the other pics, maybe it's a matter of missing time - since intense studying and commenting is really demanding, maybe some don't dare to share their thoughts, maybe there are already too many pics presented - and most likely a mixture of that all?! Think, we should not give up, at least some are "awake". Take care, Armin
Thanks Armin, I really have to ask is everyone asleep in this forum?
It just does not seem to me at least that shots don't attract much interest or comment unless you place an asterik next to it.
I just have to say that I always thought the Asterik was for those who wanted some technical comment on their work not just a 'gee wiz that's great" or a I think this shot is rubbish" type comment?
It just seems that a lot of the good shots just don't get noticed and overlooked.
That's just my opinion though because I had a look back through some of the challengers and boy! some good stuff didn't raise much of vote and the hits cetainly show that as well.

Eric, although a very sad topic, this is a great one, like the pattern of the wall, the B/W and of course - how he, although in that situation - seems to feel a little bit comfortable (I hope). ~ Armin
