Hiya guys,

Haven't run yet. Wouldn't know where to run, since I don't know where Wilma is going (I've learned not to pay too much attention to forcasts). We should be fine though, my island is on the North Florida coast.

You know, I'd like to reshoot this. Yes, it's really two pics. I tried it with just the filter and the sun, but it seemed . . . I dunno . . . empty. If I was to do this again I'd pobably get up earlier and hold the camera sideways . . . Better yet, I'd get my seven year old to hold the filter.

But, it seems the skies are going to be increasingly cloudy for a few days. Ah well, thanks for the comments!

Just noticed where this was shot, I imagine Bwuce has done a runner.
Rod 23-Oct-2005 00:49
Well wot you think Bwuce, are we right or wot? :-)

Disturbing image. Your hand seems to be a menace to the runner

Agree with Rod on this one. - RK

The problem here is me eyes are torn between the hand & glass & the man & ocean. I think this would work much better & be more dramatic if the hand was cropped as a vertical getting rid of the geezer & ocean. I really like half of the shot mate, half well done:-)

Know exactly who asked :-) and in the next reply I asked about a filter being held close up to the lens - but this was meant as a joke, only.
I'm stunned about what you, Bruce, came up with; a brilliant idea and shot! ~ Armin

Someone asked about shooting through the filter while attached to the lens and I said, no way, that's not going to count as through glass. However, you've taken that idea a step further by using the filter as the glass object to photograph through... and I'm liking it :-) I can see all sorts of other possibilities with this theme / idea, thanks for sparking the imagination n ME! Great shot. Markjay

You beat me to it. But I would not have had the beautiful ocean in the shot. Well done. theFly

When I first looked at this shot I thought "there is nothing through glass in this image." But then I realized the the filter is in front of the sun. Cool!!! I really like it! ~Sharon
