Well I'll be buggered, wrong again. If I keep saying your work is done in PS then the law of averages ses I will be right one day:-) Very good work RK.

Thank you VERY much for posting your explanation. When someone posts their image setup, it really helps everyone.... myself included, to learn. Markjay

Thanks Rod, Markjay and Rentasmo.
Rod - again thanks for the complement. I wish I have the PS skill to create this effect in PS.
Mark - The apple was placed behind the glass and shot top down at an angle.
Rentasmo - the glass is thick (not sure about handmade) and has lots of imperfections.

Follow are some more photos from the session.

I know light & glass can give some strange results & I've been wrong many times before, but the edges of the smeared colour look very PS & abrupt. Somehow light & glass have a more pleasant magical look at the edges.

This shot definitely does not scream photoshoppery at me, I'm seeing a thick glass, perhaps handmade, dish with an apple behind it. I like it. I have an inkling that the focus could be a bit sharper but it may be that I'm wanting the focus to be on a different point than it is. Tricky when you have a shot with depth such as this.

I really like how the imprefections in the glass distort the edge of the apple.

I'm thinking (guessing) this is a shot of an apple through the BOTTOM looking up, through a glass bowl. Am I mistaken? It could also be a shot looking down through the glass but I would think the apple INSIDE the bowl from the bottom would be a little easier to set up? :-) If I'm correct, then this is a creative point of view through the glass and we'll have to tongue torture Rod for his comments. LOL If I'm wrong, then your PS work, worked. Markjay

I know you have been having some fun spoiling your fine shots in Photoshop lately & this seems to have had a similar time in that wretched program. Photoshop is a fine tool for refining a photo, not for making one. If I'm wrong & this is basically from your camera then its a shame it looks like a PS picy:-)
