Looking at this I decided the opposite, that the view is from the bottom, with the glass set on top of something transparent for the sake of the picture. I interpreted it this way because I don't think the circles on the bottom of the glass would be as dark from the top. I could be wrong though.

An interesting point of view, RK. Creative of you to photograph through the glass from above the glass and, with the "red bottom" grabbing a hold of our attention too! My only nit (*) if you are going to do this again some day, is that the camera is not centrally located above the glass bottom. That is, because of your slightly off to the right-side view, the left side of the glass details are lost DOF details. Certainly tricky business in a shot like this but, I'm an attention to details kind of guy :-) so I thought I'd point this out for you. Markjay
