Great color and nice tree silouetttes. I like how they are seem to respond to wind

This is a lovely looking shot, the thumbnail makes it look digitally over saturated, but opened up its terrific with natural looking colours & enough clouds to give some added interest. The silhouettes look particularly good sharp & black. Great work Steve.

Thanks Jano and everyone else who has given great comments on this photo. Lepe is on the south coast of England near Southampton, the closest point to the Isle of Wight. These particular trees are on top of the cliff and take the full force of the prevailing gales, hence there natural twisted beauty, and the small indictation of the water from such a height. I had a number of photogs and passers by, come up to me and ask why I was so intent of getting a photo of a playground and a pile of rubbish! Maybe they just couldn't see past the foreground!... - Steve.

Steve - I know exactly what you mean with honing your skills and just getting out to get the shot. I have a few sunset pics that I am fairly pleased with but which I almost didn't take, only because I was disappointed in my efforts the previous nite. To capture the setting sun in this way as you did is really something to be proud of and you have done it extremely well!!! You're lucky to be near such a beautiful area. Where is Lepe County Park? jano

Thankyou everyone for your great comments, this one is a bit of a personal triumph. I have been trying to capture this shot for the last 6 months, I knew the photo was there I just hadn't managed to capture it, at least in the 4 or 5 previous attempts I had managed to hone my skills so that when the weather obliged I was ready to capture it. In fact I have another 10 equally beautiful shots from last night. Thanks for the topic Jano, if it hadn't been silhouettes I doubt I would have skipped dinner and got this photo. - Steve

This is perfect - love how you exposed the sun and then there are those wonderful silhouettes of trees . The sky is beautiful, and the glint on the water. Could not be more lovely. Capture of a lifetime IMO. jano

I like this one...not only the colors of the sky but also the intricate curvy forms of the trees. Very nice.
